Verity Ruecker from Avon Valley Concerts wanted to us to let you know about this…information about free live classical music concerts from around the world. is running a list, constantly updated, of organisations live-streaming concerts in the wake of corona-virus measures.  For a taster –  Rachmaninoff’s gorgeous Piano Concerto No 2 is going out for free on Sunday April 12 at 7pm. Visit the ‘Always Playing’ section at London Symphony Orchestra’s website Mahler’s 2nd follows on Thursday, 16th April.

There’s opera from the Met in New York and symphonies by the Berlin Philharmonic, amongst others.

On a lighter note, Andrew Lloyd Webber is offering free broadcasts on Friday evenings of his musicals via a new channel on YouTube called The Show Must Go On. Jesus Christ Superstar is on this Friday, 7pm.

For those with a sight impairment this is such a tricky time but we have also had some great news from Ringwood & Fordingbridge Talking News…

The Ringwood & Fordingbridge Talking News publishes an audio roundup of the local news on a CD which is sent to Blind and Visually Impaired listeners every fortnight. The Local News is now being published on line, courtesy of the RNIB and the Talking News Federation.  Anybody can listened to the local news by installing the Talking Newspaper app on your smart phone where you will also be able to listen to other local talking news groups in the South East and South West sections.  Alternatively the Ringwood & Fordingbridge Talking News can be found on this link:
