As our local NCT groups regularly meet here at Greyfriars we wanted to share details of their Christmas appeal to help lonely parents, especially at Christmas.
We hope you agree that parenting shouldn’t be lonely. The recent published Coram report on the prevalence of parental loneliness highlighted the issue, saying “Over half of parents with young children feel lonely, with those on lowest incomes twice as likely to be affected”.
We believe that something can and must be done, and we would value your support in highlighting our appeal amongst your communities and service users.
With this in mind we are hoping that you are able to support our Christmas Appeal to fund a new service, Baby & Me.
Baby & Me is planned to be a new volunteer-led service which aims to reduce social isolation and provide information and support to new parents, particularly those in most need. We will also involve our brilliant NCT course leaders to share trusted information and caring support. The Christmas appeal aims to raise money to pilot this new service. We have a short animated film which explains the service and asks for donations which is being promoted on social media and other platforms now and into early January.
