In the medium of textiles RACE ( Ringwood’s Action for Climate Change) would like to invite you to create an image of something that represents your pursuits, thoughts & experience of the Covid19 lockdown.
Using 25 1/2 cm, 10″ patch of fabric & in the medium of your choice, it can be hand/machine sewn, appliqué, embroidery, felted, fabric paint/print.
Each individual square will be sewn together to create a large banner & in the year displayed in Ringwood’s Meeting House.
It’s open to interpretation, for examples you might have a renewed connection with nature, gardening or a new discovery or gratitude for someone or something, we all have a different experience to share.
You Will Need:
25 1/2 cm/10″ Square of fabric, something sturdy like upholstery, calico, hessian. We can supply if you have nothing suitable.
Optional: Embroidery hoop if you have one. Trims, buttons, fabric paints.
YOU MUST LEAVE A 2CM BORDER UNSTITCHED AROUND THE EDGE OF YOUR PATCH for sewing together.
Please drop off your patch to Ringwood Fabrics Shop c/o Angela by the 30th June marked for RACE Make Do & Mend. Include your name & telephone number (& optional discription of your piece would be welcome)
