This is Greyfriars – an elegant Georgian house which has been our home since 1958. Although we have grown a great deal since then – for example, by adding rooms and halls, the original Greyfriars house stands proudly as our focal point.
Here is a link to more about the fascinating history of Greyfriars written by Mary Baldwin – you will see it is an extract from her excellent booklet “The History of Greyfriars” available from the office at £1
The Association’s management comprises elected officers and a committee. A Council encompassing a representative from each affiliated organisation, from the local authority and from each Greyfriars club is the governing body of the Association. The day-to-day running of the centre and the carrying out of Council policies is under the jurisdiction of the Manager. The office is open everyday between 9.00am -5pm Monday -Friday and Saturday 9am – 12.00 noon.
