One group meets on Wednesday afternoons from 2.00 – 4.00 pm (not August), to read a wide range of plays for pleasure. Please contact Russell Webb (01425 476618).russell.webb@btinternet.com
In a convivial atmosphere, we aim to read a play a week. Play sets borrowed from Winchester discovery Centre, via Ringwood Library, include the classical greats of European literature (notably, Anouilh, Checkhov, Ibsen, Shaw and Wilde) together with contributions from contemporary writers (e.g. Alan Bennett, Agatha Christie, Noel Coward, Somerset Maughn, Arthur Miller John Osborne, Harold Pinter, J B Priestley, Emlyn and Tennesse Williams). Thus all aspects of drama are covered – tragedy, mystery, comedy – and the cathartic or joyful effects are fully appreciated by the readers whose nuanced reactions to the text ensure that each play becomes alive and meaningful. If anyone would like to join us (no experience necessary, just enthusiasm!) please contact Russell on the phone number or e mail above

We look forward to welcoming you either as a visitor or new member. We are a friendly Club for all who have an interest in gardens and gardening ( a garden isn’t necessary!).
New members (£10.00 per season) are always welcome as are visitors who may attend up to 3 meetings per season without becoming members ( £3.00 per meeting – if you join during a meeting the visitor fee will be refunded for that meeting).
Anyone wishing to join the club during the summer session, will, on payment of current dues, be enrolled and will have been deemed to have paid subscription for the following year.
Note, club members must be members of the Ringwood and District Community Association (Greyfriars ) whose subscriptions become due at the start of the new session in September,
Whilst most of our meetings are fully illustrated, the odd one may be a practical demonstration with supporting props. Meetings normally start at 7.30 pm in the Greyfriars Hall, Ringwood Community Association Centre, Christchurch Road, Ringwood. though plant auctions/AGM and enrollment nights start at the earlier times of 7.00 or 7.15 pm as noted on the programme.
The twice yearly plant auctions (free to visitors!) are fun and are a really cost effective way of stocking a new or re-modeled garden. Plants come from a variety of different locations and soil types around Ringwood and relevant planting care advise is always available from one of the many knowledgeable Club members.
A summer programme is issued towards the end of the winter programme and includes members gardens open for fellow members only with teas and (often) homemade cakes available.
A Couple of coach trips to various gardens/horticultural attractions are also usually arranged and spare seats are offered for sale to non-members/visitors, so keep yours eyes peeled for notices of these..
Coach outings have 3 pick up points: 1, St. Ives A31 bus stop (either E or W according to destination) 2. Mansfield Road Ringwood. 3. Moortown Lane, Crow.
