Greyfriars offers a range of welfare services for the community. For further information on any of the services below, please use the appropriate contact number, or contact the Greyfriars office. Greyfriars also offers a minibus service. (Note. Hearing Aid Batteries

Available from Greyfriars office on Monday afternoons 1.30 pm to 3.45 pm (except bank holidays).

Luncheon Club

Every Wednesday a two-course meal is prepared and served to the frail, elderly and socially isolated guests who have been referred to the club by their doctor.

Transport is available if needed.

Ringwood and District Good Neighbours Scheme

Helps people in the local community. The type of support offered: appointments at hospitals, doctors, dentists, etc. or any tasks a good neighbour would do. Volunteers to help are always needed.

Ringwood Old People’s Welfare Association

An umbrella body bringing together some 20 or so local organisations, whose aims include the welfare of the elderly in the district. Funds are obtained from legacies, donations, etc. and are spent on grants to special initiatives that will enhance the quality of life for our senior citizens. St John Ambulance

Meetings for training in first aid and associated subjects are held in Greyfriars Hall every Tuesday evening during school terms.

  • Badgers 5.30 pm – 6.00 pm
  • Cadets 6.30 pm – 8.00 pm
  • Adults 8.00 pm – 9.30 pm

WRVS

Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday mornings between 10.00 am – 1.00 pm.

WRVS helps people of all ages and assists local authorities in general welfare. We deliver ‘Meals on Wheels’ five days a week, and are occasionally called upon to arrange ’Emergency Service Training’.

Young at Heart (Formerly Greyfriars Disabled Club)

A social club for the physically less able, older members of the community meets on the 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month from 2.30pm – 4.30pm in the Activities Centre.
