Yoga and gentle exercise

Tutor: Christine Folliard (01425 652 077)

Class:

  • Yoga and gentle exercise: Tuesday 2:45pm to 3:45pm
  • Yoga: Tuesday 4:00pm to 5:00pm

Room: Greyfriars Hall

Recent scientific studies have shown yoga can be as effective as pain killers to control chronic pain, and Hatha yoga, with emphasis on breathing and relaxation, is recommended. Our classes work hard with both these aspects.

Students often report how they have used the yoga breath to control fear and pain during medical procedures. These skills help control stress and various problems related to stress. However, to learn them you need to join a class. If you are interested, please call Christine for a chat.

The New Forest School of Dance provides ballet, modern dance and tap classes for children between the ages of three and 18.

Our philosophy is that dancing is for everyone, helping to build confidence in our young pupils. We aim to provide an excellent dance education is a safe, caring and fun atmosphere.

The school follows the syllabi of the Royal Academy of Dance and the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing. If they wish to, and when they have reached the required standard, pupils may be entered for examinations.

Every two years we perform a show involving all children aged six and above, which takes place at the Layard Theatre in Wimbourne. We also take part in various local charity events and older students thoroughly enjoy performing with local amateur dramatic societies.

We also run a very popular Summer School at the beginning of the Summer Holidays.
