www.tutors4computers.co.ukA new class at Greyfriars, especially for Senior Citizens! Computers can be a little puzzling for those who are new to them. That’s why our tutors start right at the beginning, only progressing to the next step when you are ready. Your tutor will show you anything from how to turn a computer on, to how to trade shares on the internet.
You will only learn about the things you want to, whether its using the internet and sending e-mails, digital photos, writing letters, or basic accounts, all at your own pace.
Classes will be held on Wednesdays 13th and 27th January and 10th February, £5 per hour. Call the above number for more information and to book a place.

This course combines serious study with humour, and traces major events and personalities between 1800 and 2003.
The first of three independent bite-sized courses of ten weeks has come to an end. All the adults have thoroughly enjoyed it (their words, not mine!), and are keen to see new members from anyone with a love of history, and a wish to understand it better! If you would like to join us you will receive a warm welcome, and a cup of tea and biscuits!

The beginning of the autumn term has been very successful and it has been good to meet up again after the long summer break. There have been some excellent designs of Autumn subjects drawn which will be completed during the rest of the term. Late summer flowers and fruits and some lovely leaf colour have helped to inspire us.
In January we will be looking forward to the dainty spring flowering bulbs and blossoms with a new set of challenges to convey their beauty onto paper.
The classes are friendly and hardworking with help at hand when required whatever the level of experience.
Enquiries are welcome although places are limited.

There is something for everybody wanting to improve and gain confidence in speaking and understanding Spanish whether for Holidays, Retirement or just interest in the language and culture of Spanish speaking countries.

Yoga is just what we need at this time of year to keep ourselves fit, flexible and full of energy, inspite of grey skies and damp atmospheres.
The flowing yoga postures, deep and conscious breathing and various yogic healing exercises give us the ability to let go of anxiety, to deeply relax and to remain bouncy and happy all year round.
If you would like to join us, please come along or phone the above number for more information.

Both classes have worked very hard all through the long Autumn term. Indeed every term brings good results with increased flexibility, less stress reactions and increased back strength. All the students have worked well and feel energised and yet relaxed. There has been an emphasis on correct breathing habits helping the students to ward off flu and colds. Yoga practiced regularly helps promote a strong healthy body and mind.
If you are not so young and would like to regain some of the flexibility you may have lost or simply want to exercise safely on a regular basis, please telephone Chris on the above number. Classes restart January 5th 2010.
